Summer Internship Opportunities

If you enjoy the outdoors and want to learn about the operations of a unique Maine State Park, this is an internship for you. This will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity to explore and protect an exceptional portion of Maine's historic coast.

At 1,350 acres, the park is a vast combination of forested uplands, wetland meadows, historic homesteads, ancient cemeteries, and rugged coastline. Trails take visitors to many of these features and hiking is a popular attraction. The park is also home to a 115-acre offshore island catering to the boating and paddling public.

This job involves maintaining facilities, grounds, and trails on the mainland and Holbrook Island along with providing assistance to scheduled interpretative programs. A boat will be provided to commute back and forth to the island.

The park and particularly the island are subject to unique management practices with the primary focus being the protection of the natural environment. You are expected to become familiar with and apply the restrictions set forth by the deeds.
